After it got a bit darker, we went back to his garage to try that first shot again. I do like the first one, however. I think seeing the garage adds to the over all feel of the image.
I had two 430EXII on ettl firing into shoot through umbrellas both left and right of camera, fairly close to the car. My mate was up on the rickety tin roof with an SB-26 at full power blasting into the laser light for the windscreen reflection.
In post, I added a vignette and set the blacks slider to about 25. As well as a slight curves adjustment.
